With its rich history, vibrant culture, and captivating beaches, Cuba has long intrigued American travelers. While U.S. travel restrictions to Cuba have evolved, the “Support for the Cuban People” category remains a compelling avenue for Americans seeking an immersive and purposeful experience on the island as offered in this 7 day opportunity.

Under this general license, American travelers have the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey that goes beyond typical tourist activities. By engaging in a range of meaningful interactions and activities that support civil society, promote independence, and foster connections with the Cuban people, visitors can contribute to the island’s social, economic, and cultural development.

Highlights include classic car tours of Havana, Vinales Valley, Hemingway's house, the Bay of Pigs, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and the Ingenios Valley.

Please be aware that travel is only permitted under an individual license, and that Cuba may present challenges that travelers are not used to.  All interested individuals should contact the museum first to discuss this opportunity prior to registration.

Day 1  Arrive in Havana and check into the hotel before a short walk around the hotel's neighborhood of Old Havana and a welcome dinner.

Day 2  Enjoy a private tour of Havana in a classic convertible, followed by a walking tour of Old Havana and then a cocktail and cooking class where guests will prepare their own dinner.

Day 3  Visit the famed Vinales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including a tour of a working tobacco farm with cigar rolling lesson, and optional stops at other attractions.

Day 4  Experience the beauty and contrasting history of the Bay of Pigs on our journey to the French colonial town of Cienfuegos, followed by a walking tour of the city.

Day 5  Discover the city of Trinidad, followed by a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site known as the Valley of the Sugar Mills.

Day 6  Journey by boat through the Bay of Cienfuegos to the old Spanish fortification guarding the bay at the village of Jagua, then return to Havana to witness the historic cannon ceremony.

Day 7  Free morning to explore Havana one last time before visiting Finca Vigia, the former home of Ernest Hemingway, while heading to the airport.

PRICING & DEADLINES

"For Support of the Cuban People" is an individual travel license, and by participating in this tour all travelers acknowledge and accept all legal and personal responsibilities and requirements to travel under said license. The CRF Museum is only assisting travelers with making arrangements and is not liable for ensuring each traveler meets all requirements.

$1,750 per person, based on shared rooms. Additional $150 for a single room.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE

• All the accommodation, meals, and drinks specified in your itinerary, are included in the tour price.

• Entrance to all of the attractions, specified in your itinerary, are included in your tour price.

• All transport, specified in your itinerary, is included in your tour price.

• An experienced, qualified and knowledgeable English Speaking guide, plus all their expenses, as specified in your itinerary, is included in your tour price.
  

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE

• Airfare or travel costs getting to/from Havana is not included in your tour price.

• Travel insurance is not included in your tour price.

• Necessary tourist cards or visas are not included in your tour price.
  

• Any meals and drinks, not specifically mentioned, are not included in your tour price.
  

• A gratuity to your Guide is not included in your tour price. If at the end of your tour, you are extremely happy with your driver-guide we recommend a tip of $50-100.
  

• Extra items at your accommodation, such as laundry, spa treatments, room service, telephone charges and porterage of your luggage to the vehicle are not included in your tour price.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. A $100 non-refundable security deposit is required at time of registration. Full payment is due by October 1, 2024 (or one month after registration, if after September 1) for standard pricing.  Final payments should be made by check, payable to CRF Museum, or by credit card (3% processing fee applies).

2. Minimum of 5 guests required to fulfill trip. Spots will be booked in order of online registration.  If minimum is not met, all security deposits will be refunded.

3. Guests must arrive in Havana on Day 1. Failure to do so may result in guests being responsible for their own transportation to the hotel.

4. All guests are responsible for ensuring passport status and meeting all travel requirements, including understanding and accepting conditions of travel under the Support of the Cuban People license. CRF Museum and our travel partners cannot be held liable if your trip is impacted by travel restrictions including those associated with passport or visa status, or health and wellness.

5. Cancellation is only refundable (minus security deposit) until the advertised registration deadline.  In the event of nationwide covid-19 lockdowns, natural disasters, war, etc. the CRF Museum reserves the right to cancel the entirety of the trip after this deadline. In agreement with our travel partners, we will be able to refund 100% to all guests if canceled 60 days prior to arrival. In the unlikely event of complete cancellation, guests will be responsible for the cancellation and refund of their airfare or additional costs.

6. We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance or use a credit card with automatic coverage when purchasing airfare. CRF Museum and travel partners cannot be held liable for any loss of funds due to termination or changes to your trip.
